An Update

So I've been away a while!  The past three months seem to have absolutely flown by, I cannot believe the summer is almost over.

I started my first ever job at the end of July, working in a pathology lab - basically a laboratory which receives hospital patient samples (bloods, urines, and more!) and processes them for a variety of tests.  So far I am loving it - it can be stressful at times, and VERY busy (receiving 3,000 samples a day), but it is a great team of people and I'm learning so much every day.

The wonderful thing about no longer being a student is that once I finish work at the end of the day, there are no lab reports, no essays, no requirements to revise or do any further research when I get home.  This is such a welcome change!  However I still find myself wanting to know more about the sample tests we offer in my laboratory, and carry out my own research at home to understand more about their clinical significance.

Obviously being in full-time work occupies a significant proportion of my time, and so hasn't left too much room for doing other things.  I have been working on my guitar practise at any and every reasonable hour I am at home, and the weekends have been spent seeing friends and watching some good old British television and film (The Great British Bake Off, Doctor Who and Harry Potter, to be precise)!

Another change in my life has been the release of the hugely anticipated Sims 4... I'm sure I will dedicate a blog post to this soon, once I've explored the game a little more.  I've managed to somehow clock just over 30 hours of gameplay so far, although I don't know how and when!?

I realise this is only a very brief post; I intend on writing a larger piece in the next few days.  I just wanted to post a little update as an apology for my near 3-month absence!
